Please enter your comments: | This was my first reunion and what a great experience! You always want to find guys you served with but regardless of what era or unit you were with there are so many great people to meet and stories to listen to and tell. Hawaii was the ideal location and seeing and meeting the current Tropic Lightening troops was a pleasure and very reashuring for me. Take the effort and plan on being at the next reunion to meet people who have similar realities. it's worth the effort. |

Please enter your comments: | Must agree with brother B.Parks comments.Yes more "BEER" is needed!Reunions are always great. The small unit reunions are almost as wonderful,50, 60 members Etc.But to be with over400 or more of those who share the same bond, "COMBAT" or "PEACE TIME",wethere from WW2,Korea, Viet Nam,or Desert Storm,is amazing. We all have a common bond and all were not "Infantry",WE DID WHAT OUR COUNTRY ASKED"and are very proud of that fact! We have met so, many wonderful people over the years, and have become very good friends! To those who have never been to a reunion, I say, come with your family as I have done and meet some truly "Great Americans".I always tip my hat to the founding fathers of our Assoc. Some have passed on but to those that I recall the most, the Grasso's, Schumachers,Murry's Cagwins,Larsens,Shanahans.Great people with amazing stories of the times etc. Go to the Wall in Nov. ,Go to Branson next year, and plan on the next year. Don't let people ever forget the sacrifices we all made. As Bill P said" End of Story" Oh" NO MORE HOUNDS NEED APLY" |

Please enter your comments: | Attended the reunion and as always, if there is only one reunion you can make, make it the one in Hawaii! The weather was superb, the tours very good and the hospitality and enthusiasm of the troops, now with the Division, was outstanding! But I do believe we are losing something that used to be very prevelant. And that's the social interaction of the Vets and their companions, be it wives, girlfreinds, children, or whatever. It used to be that the Hospitality Suite was almost always open and was THE gathering place. There used to be sign up sheets for the Units and that was a place you could look to see if someone you have lost contact with had actually come to the reunion. The hospitality suite was also a place where you could have a beer or a soda, and just relax and meet new faces and old freinds. I mean you might even hear the truth occasionally, in some of the stories being told. I also think everyone had closer ties when the focus was on THE DIVISION ASSOCIATION and it's Reunion, rather than the way it's becoming, with unit functions and reunions taking precedent. It has been years since we've seen the faces of some of our members who were always at the earlier reunions and whose company some of us really enjoyed, but they were at their chapter reunion. The DIVISION ASSOCIATION, it's betterment and continued sucess, should always remain what we put most of our energy and time into. I fear that if the current trend continues we'll fade away as one Powerfull and Vibrant DIVISION ASSOCIATION and become a hodge-podge of chapters where everyone only cares about how it effects them personally and the hell with the rest of the organizations.I hope to see everyone next year in Branson, God willing. END OF STORY!!! |

Please enter your comments: | Silent Ranks This is for the wives. We need to thank them for being there for us when we need them the most. SILENT RANKS I wear no uniforms, no blues or army greens. But I am in the military in the ranks rarely seen. I have no rank upon my shoulders. Salutes I do not give. But the military world is the place where I live. I'm not in the chain of command, orders I do not get. But my husband is the one who does, this I cannot forget. I'm not the one who fires the weapon, who puts my life on the line. But my job is just as tough. I'm the one that's left behind. My husband is a patriot, a brave and pride-filled man. And the call to serve his country not all can understand. Behind the lines I see the things needed to keep this country free. My husband makes the sacrifice, but so do our kids and me. I love the man I married. Soldiering is his life. But I stand among the silent ranks known as the Military Wife. |

BUT WHEN HE SEES THE "ELECTRIC STRAWBERRY" HE GOES OUT OF HIS WAY TO TALK WITH THE GUY AND GIVE HIM A HUG. I KNOW HOW MUCH JR. WILL HEAL IF HE COULD TALK WITH SOME OF HIS BROTHERS. I CAN LOVE HIM ALOT, BUT NOT LIKE YOU CAN. YOU CAN RELATE TO EACH OTHER..I AM HIS WIFE, AND I WASN'T THERE, SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW AND I KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT LIFE TO REALIZE THAT I CAN'T BE EVERYTHING TO JUNIOR. SO I LEAVE HIS HEALING TO GOD, TO YOU AND TO HIM. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU. |

Please enter your comments: | I want to echo Murph's sentiments concerning the reunion. My wife, son and I are all going. Our son is flying from Dallas to meet us at LAX. My wife is a timid flier anyway and will be so doped up I'll have to carry her off the plane, but she's going! As the message on our home page says, we won't let terrorists dictate our calendar. (Besides, it's already paid for.) See you all there!!!!! |

Please enter your comments: | To all of those planning to go to Hawaii. Please don't change your minds. After talking with my significant other, we have decided to go as originally planned. If the airlines are running and my portfolio doesn't go belly up, we will be there. I was the biggest chicken to ever wear the patch of this proud division, but I'll be there! Yes we are afraid but we will be there and we will have a good time. If you cancel out, they win. As a precaution ,I'll probably be wearing adult diapers the day of the flight. Hope to see you there.
